"Babe and Ma" from The Sheep-Pig by Dick King-Smith.  I wanted to convey a more sentimental portrait of animals and surroundings, so chose to stick with more realistic and subtle tones.  The look on both the pig's and ma's face show a soft more gentle nature (however as you can see I still managed to incorporate texture)
