I always feel privileged to work with Bromley Mencap and today I held a quick session with a small group of young people with learning disabilities, creating Olympic inspired paintings. I love the individuality in approach to their artworks, with some being spontaneous and others concentrating on clean lines and carefully selected colour combinations.Today's themes included painting, printing, stencils and layering. For the past two months I have run a pcd Art Course for adults with learning and physical disabilities, in my local community.  Taking inspiration from the Nikolai Astrup exhibition we all visited, I provided the group with a number of themes, techniques and materials not normally associated with regular art classes, in the hope of engaging students in developing creativity, nurturing self expression, building confidence and enjoying new ways of working.
